Western Highlands Museum MOU
The signing ceremony was held on 27 of May 2026 at the Ministry’s office, Level 9, Monian Tower, Downtown Port Moresby. MoU will help expand cultural research and documentation of traditional knowledge, languages, history, arts, and cultural practices in Western Highlands Province. Through this partnership, we will continue to learn more about the cultures of Western Highlands Province while creating structure and direction for cultural development,” he said.

WHP POLICE GETS FACELIFT OF NEW POLICE BARRACKS.
The new police accommodation in Kimininga Barracks, Mt Hagen, is a game-changer for the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) officers.
The facility features a 26-room male single quarter barracks with a capacity for 50 officers and an 8-room female single quarter barracks catering for 15 officers.

ROAD SEALING OF YAWERE JUNCTION TO KIRIPIA STATION
The first 6km of road sealing from Yawer Junction to Kiripia Station in the Lower Kagul District of Tambul Nebilyer under Western Highlands Provincial Government "Going Rural Program" and, with the support National of Government "Connect PNG Program" has already started this week.

GOVERNOR WAI RAPA'S RURAL ELECTRIFICATION ROLLOUT PROGRAM CONTINUES.
For many years, thousands of people living in the rural and remote parts of Western Highlands Province have dreamed of having access to electricity. Families have relied on bush lamps, kerosene lights, generators, and other costly alternatives to provide lighting in their homes. However, under the leadership of Western Highlands Governor Hon. Wai Rapa, that dream is gradually becoming a reality through the Provincial Government's ambitious Rural Electrification Program, which is a major component of the Going Rural Program.

GIA TVET PROJECT IN TAMBUL- LOWER KAGUL PROGRESSING STEADILY UNDER GOVERNOR WAI RAPA’S EDUCATION INFRASTRUCTURE DRIVE POLICY.
The Gia Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) project in Tambul Lower Kaguel, Western Highlands Province, is steadily progressing and continues to take shape as construction work advances on site.
